Jennifer Boyd - Head Coach

Jennifer Boyd has been the head coach of Ashbury College's girls' rugby team since 2000.  in her twelve years at Ashbury, the girls have won 11 of the last 12 Canadian Association of Independent School National Championships as well as OFSAA Gold in 2002, 2006, 2007, and 2008.  Asshbury also earned OFSAA Silver in 2005, 2009 and 2010, and OFSAA Bronze in 2003.  Jenn was also the assistant coach of the U19 Ontario girls' provincial team that won the Canadian National Junior Championship in 2007.  Jenn was a player and coach for the Ottawa Irish Rugby Club between 1997 and 2008.  During this time she helped the senior women win the Quebec Women's Premier League titles in 1997 and 1999, the EORU Women's League titles in 2002 and 2003 as well as the Ontario Women's Premier League title in 2007.  She also lead the OIRC Junior Girls to EORU Junior League Championship from 2004 to 2007.  She is a certified NCCP Level 3 Rugby Coach and won the Ottawa Sports Award  Coach of the Year 2008.

Jen's playing career included varsity rugby at Bishop's University and the University of Ottawa.  She was a member of the Quebec Senior Women's Provincial team from 1998 to 2005, winning national titles in 2000 and 2001.  Jenn was also a member of Canada's National Senior Women's Team between 2003 and 2005, playing against New Zealand, England, Scotland and the USA.

Duncan McNaughton - Assistant Coach

Coach McNaughton has played, refereed and coached rugby for over 20 years.  Playing in the Scottish Premier Division for DHSFP RFC, duncan played representative rugby for Caledonia Red and played against rugby giants New Zealand (under 21) and Australia while they toured Scotland.  During that time Duncan was selected onto representative touring sides to New Zealand, Ireland, France, Wales and England.  Immigrating to Canada in 1993, Duncan joined the Ottawa Irish as a backrow forward and played 3 years in the Ontario Premier League.  During that period  Duncan also captained Eastern Ontario on thier first overseas tour , playing Holland (National Team), Llanelli, Rugby and Bath.  Taking up refereeing at 27, Duncan quickly moved up to officiate top matches in Ontario and across Canada, before a knee injury stopped his career.

As a coach, Duncan was assistant coach at Carleton University Men's Rugby for two seasons and has coached basketball and soccer.  Duncan has completed NCCP coaching clinics in Rugby (level 1) and Soccer (level 3).
