Hi Wolves!

We know how easy it is to get wrapped up in your studies, work, and other responsibilities and suddenly find yourself at the end of a semester wondering where the time has gone. It’s important to balance your academic and work responsibilities alongside social opportunities and personal time to maintain a healthy lifestyle.

Summer is a fantastic opportunity to get outside, explore the city and local events, and have some fun in the fresh air as you balance your other goals. I want to take this opportunity to highlight some upcoming opportunities and events that the Students’ Association is offering to support your experience and make the most of the summer.

There are plenty of ways to get involved this month – here are just a few!

  • Try a yoga class or learn martial arts – Fitness classes at the Jack Doyle Athletics and Recreation Centre are free for fee-paying Algonquin College students.
  • Challenge your friends in the Wolves Den Restaurant and Games Room – Check out our 10-pin bowling alley, virtual golf simulator, and pool tables. All free to students!
  • Take a book, leave a book – Find new books or share your favourites with other students at the Book Nook on the second floor of the Student Commons.
  • Enjoy the weather with friends – Students can freely borrow outdoor games and sports equipment such as soccer balls, spikeball kits, and frisbees from the SA Office (E114). Available from June to September 2025!
  • Check out a discounted show at the Algonquin Commons Theatre – Students get access to discounted tickets for select shows.
  • Join us for a movie under the stars! We’re hosting outdoor movie nights on the Student Commons front lawn. Come check out Captain America: Brave New World on July 10, or Mufasa on July 24.

As we enter the official start of summer and the second half of the semester, make sure you take the time to take care of yourself. Your well-being is an important part of your experience here. Whether you want to try something new or simply take a break from your studies, the SA is here to help you make the most of this season.

Best wishes,

Vanshika,
President, Students’ Association
