About Us - Algonquin Commons Theatre

The Algonquin Commons Theatre (ACT) is a state of the art venue that opened in the fall of 2012 on the Algonquin College Ottawa campus. Located in the Robert C. Gillett Student Commons (Building E), the ACT is owned and operated by the Algonquin Students’ Association. The primary purpose of the space is to host events such as live music, comedy, guest speakers, dance, theatre, and more!

Some of the events hosted in the ACT over the past few years have included July Talk, Kip Moore, Lights, Machine Gun Kelly, Letterkenny Live, Bryan Callen, and even Gordon Lightfoot.

The ACT has been used by the CBC for a live taping of This Hour Has 22 Minutes, and has played host to Saint Petersburg State Academic Ballet Theatre’s performance of Swan Lake.

The ACT is proud to offer an assortment of events that complement the diversity and culture of Ottawa.

The ACT is available for rentals.
