Know Before You Go - Algonquin Students' Association

Location

The Algonquin Commons Theatre is located in the Robert C. Gillett Student Commons (E Building), Algonquin College at 1385 Woodroffe Ave, Ottawa, ON K2G 1V8.

The main entrance to the Algonquin Commons Theatre is located just off parking lot 8. You will see the Robert C. Gillett Student Commons building name above the main doors.

Parking & Transportation

If you drive, Red Parking Lot 8 is the closest lot to our venue and is a $6.00 flat rate on weekends and after 5:00pm on weekdays. Paid parking is in effect at all times. For more parking rates and related information, visit Algonquin College Parking Services.

Our venue is accessible by public transit and rideshare options. Baseline Transitway Station is situated on Woodroffe Avenue, next to the Algonquin College ACCE building (10-minute walk to our venue). Visit OC Transpo for more information on bus routes.

Box Office

Please arrive at the Algonquin Commons Theatre with your mobile tickets ready to be checked and scanned by our staff. Please visit the resources below prior to arriving at the venue:

The Algonquin Commons Theatre Box Office will be open 2 hours prior to event time and is closed on non-event days. Please visit ticketmaster.ca to purchase tickets.

Accessibility

The Algonquin Commons Theatre is committed to providing universal accessible seating for all patrons. Please contact the Box Office by phone at (613) 727-4723 x6442 or via email at boxoffice@algonquincollege.com to reserve these seats and to enquire about companion seating.

Coat Check

Some events have a mandatory coat check. Large bags (such as backpacks, large purses, school and gym bags) are not permitted in the Theatre at all times. Please make the necessary arrangements prior to your arrival at the venue.

Coat Check opens one hour prior to an event and closes a half-hour after the event. Patrons are solely responsible for picking up all personal belongings from Coat Check at the end of a show/event. The ACT is not responsible for lost or stolen items.

Suggested donations of $2.00, $5.00 or $10.00 will be accepted and will go toward the SA Food Cupboard, which serves the students at Algonquin College. Cash, credit cards, and debit cards are accepted.

Please note: there is no coat check available from April 1st to November 30th.

Bar Service

Bar service is not guaranteed for every event and may differ depending on the specific event you are attending. Please be sure to check the event page in advance to confirm whether bar service will be available during your event.
