Alex brings energy, empathy and a strong sense of connection to the Board. Originally from Peru, he values community, leadership, and creating spaces where students feel heard and supported. His experience as a class representative inspired him to get involved on a larger scale, where he could advocate for students, strengthen his leadership skills and help create positive change across campus.
An outgoing and approachable person, Alex loves connecting with others through shared interests, whether it’s sports, board games or casual conversation. He is especially passionate about volleyball and is an avid longboarder, preferring to use his board over talking the bus or walking.
Balancing school with long work hours as a line cook, Alex understands the realities many students face and is committed to making sure their voices are represented. Outside of academics and student leadership, Alex values mindfulness and self-care through meditation, which he says helps him stay grounded and focused. He hopes to be remembered as someone trustworthy, resilient and kind — a person his friends and family could always rely on.
When not studying or working, you’ll likely find him at the ARC talking to students, enjoying brownies, listening to upbeat rock music or taking a Muay Thai class.
