A Message from the SA President: Mid-term Exams Break and a Colourful Fall Break

SA President, Jacob Stewart, encourages you to enjoy the fall term breaks and reflect on progress.

Hi Wolves!

Pumpkin season is here! With September behind us, it feels like the semester is really starting to pick up. The excitement of the first few weeks has settled into routine, assignments and projects are well underway, and for many of us, mid-terms are just around the corner. Still, there’s lots to look forward to this month! It’s easy to get caught up in everything that needs to get done this month, so it’s important to take a breath and look after yourself.

Thanksgiving is coming up, and I hope everyone gets a chance to take some time to appreciate the people around us that help make our lives better. For some of us, that might mean getting together with friends or family and enjoying a special meal. For others, this might be a good opportunity to slow things down and have a restful weekend while reflecting on how far we’ve come. However you spend the long weekend, I hope you’re able to find some time to relax and recharge.

For many students, mid-term exams will be the biggest challenge of the month. If you’re feeling stressed, remember that you don’t have to tackle everything at once, and you still have plenty of time. These exams or projects are an opportunity to take a temperature check on how the semester is progressing before planning out the second half. Find a study routine that works for you, take lots of breaks, and don’t be afraid to reach out to others when you need support. Take it slow and remember that we’re all in this together.

And once those exams or projects are behind you, you have the mid-term break to look forward to! Fall is a beautiful season in the region, and the week will offer a great opportunity to get out and explore the city and its surroundings while taking in all the beautiful fall colours.

Remember that the college experience is about more than just your classes. Go out and make memories with your friends, catch a varsity game, and enjoy new experiences. Making time for the people around you will make this year go by in a flash. Let’s enjoy it all together and continue to build this amazing community.

Take care,

Jacob,
President, Students’ Association
