Hello Wolves!
June is here, and there is something special about this time in the term. By now, you’ve settled into your routines, campus is feeling more familiar, and the people around you are becoming a part of your everyday life. It can be easy to get overwhelmed in the middle of assignments and responsibilities, but it’s important to remember what college is all about. It’s about growth and community. Even during a busy semester, it’s important to remember that being part of the student community means we’re supporting each other every step along the way.
This month, we celebrate one of the biggest milestones in any student’s journey – convocation. Reaching this moment takes a lot of hard work, resilience, and determination, so I want to extend a truly heartfelt congratulations to all of the graduating students this year. You should be incredibly proud of everything you’ve accomplished. No matter where your path takes you, you will always be a part of the Algonquin College community, and we are excited to see what comes next on your journey.
While it feels like the term just began, the last week of June marks the mid-term break for the Spring term. This is an opportunity for a short pause that can make a big difference in your experience on campus. I strongly encourage you to take this chance to rest and recharge. Whether that’s sleeping in, spending time with friends, or exploring the city, these breaks offeran important opportunity to reset and enter the second half of the term refreshed.
What I’ve appreciated most about student life here on campus is how much stronger everything feels when we do it together. A community isn’t just built through big moments, it’s more often built through the countless small acts of support, kindness, and connection that we offer each other every day. A single conversation with someone you wouldn’t typically talk to might just change the entire trajectory of your college experience. Keep reaching out, getting involved, and continue making space for your goals and the community.
Thank you for being a part of this and for bringing your energy, experiences, and unique perspectives to campus every day. Together we make each other stronger. We’re glad you’re here, and we’re always in your corner.
Wishing you a great month ahead,
Jacob,
President, Students’ Association
