The Algonquin Students’ Association Faculty Recognition Awards were established in 1995 to provide students with an opportunity to show their appreciation to faculty members who have gone above and beyond in the classroom. The SA recognizes professors who live out our mission – to create an environment that inspires a passion for student success. Each year, students nominate deserving professors, then a committee of students and SA staff reviews the nominees and selects recipients from Ottawa, Pembroke, and Perth.
The 2024 Faculty Recognition Awards is an invite-only event held on Monday, March 25, 2024 in the Algonquin Commons Theatre.

The Awards
Excellence in Teaching Award
Each year, students from all campuses nominate professors who have gone above and beyond to help them achieve success. The Excellence in Teaching award is presented to professors from Ottawa, Pembroke, and Perth who have made significant efforts furthering the SA’s mission of creating an environment that inspires a passion for student success.
Chris Warburton Award of Excellence
The Chris Warburton Award of Excellence is awarded to a college community member who has made a significant contribution to student life and the student experience.
Algonquin Students’ Association Board of Directors Award
The Algonquin Students’ Association Board of Directors Award is presented to a college community member who works with students from all campuses and assists the advancement of the Board of Directors’ annual priorities.
