Chinese Crosstalk & Comedy Sketches – Canadian Tour 2026
Get ready for an evening of laughter as some of China’s most celebrated comedy performers take the stage in Canada!
Founded in 1953, the Crosstalk Ensemble of the China Broadcasting Performing Arts Troupe is one of China’s most prestigious professional groups dedicated to traditional Chinese comedic performing arts. Often referred to as China’s “national team” of crosstalk, the ensemble has played a significant role in shaping Chinese comedy for more than seven decades. Generations of its artists have become household names through their performances on China Central Television’s (CCTV) renowned Spring Festival Gala.
This special Canadian tour brings together an outstanding cast of acclaimed comedians, including **Fang Qingping, Wu Bin, Jia Xuming, Wang Hongkun, Wang Tong, Dong Jianchun, Li Ding**, and other talented performers, many of whom are award-winning artists and familiar faces from Chinese television.
The approximately two-hour performance features a lively selection of **xiangsheng (traditional Chinese crosstalk), solo comedy, and humorous theatrical sketches**. Combining quick-witted dialogue, clever wordplay, sharp observations of everyday life, and engaging stage performances, the show celebrates both the rich traditions and contemporary creativity of Chinese comedy.
Join us for a memorable evening filled with humour, laughter, and the timeless charm of Chinese performing arts.
