Bassem Youssef, known as the “Jon Stewart of the Arab World,” rose to fame with his political satire show AlBernameg, which began on YouTube and later transitioned to TV, reaching millions of viewers. Despite facing legal challenges, Youssef’s bold criticism of ruling powers earned him international acclaim. His journey from cardiothoracic surgery to comedy reflects a commitment to free expression. Beyond television, Youssef has engaged in various projects, including writing a book and collaborating on a superhero comedy series. His work embodies the power of humour in activism and dialogue.

Parking

Paid parking is in effect at all times. Red Parking Lot 8 is the closest possible lot to our venue. Parking is a $6.00 flat rate on weekends and after 5:00pm on weekdays in Lots 8, 9, 10 and 12. See Algonquin College Parking Services for the parking map.
