Algonquin Commons Theatre Spotlight: March 2026

Eager for the long-awaited sounds of spring? In the meantime, come warm up with the lineup of incredible musical and comedic talents featured at the Algonquin Commons Theatre this March.

Valley Country Classics:

From the Ottawa Valley to the High Valley, this musical group continues to win over audiences with their upbeat messages and unmistakable blend of contemporary country and traditional bluegrass. Led by frontman and acclaimed songwriter Brad Rempel, the multiplatinum group has become the top-selling Canadian band in country music, earning more than half a billion streams, multiple No. 1 hits, and a long list of fan favourites like “Make You Mine,” “She’s With Me,” and “Grew Up On That.”

 

Quickfire Comedy:

Indie film icon and winner of MTV’s “Dirtiest Mouth”, Jason Mewes is best known as “Jay,” the outspoken half of the cult-favourite duo Jay and Silent Bob. A cornerstone of longtime collaborator Kevin Smith’s film universe, Mewes’ rapid-fire delivery and rebellious humourhelped define a generation of indie comedy and earned him a devoted fanbase.

A Mix of Musical Tributes:

Three powerhouse tribute experiences are headed your way, each bringing its own brand of musical magic. Starting off, the Andrew Lloyd Webber tribute “Music of the Night” arrives after a sold-out cross-Canada tour, featuring a live band and acclaimed vocalists performing beloved selections from Phantom of the Opera, Evita, Cats, Jesus Christ Superstar, Sunset Blvd, and more. Next up, you can be part of the show in an ABBA-charged celebration of iconic hits, stunning costumes, and non-stop energy! Rounding out the stage, the Megastars of Country Music brings an extraordinary tribute featuring authentic stage costumes and sounds to honourthe incredible careers of Alan Jackson, George Strait, and Brooks & Dunn.

Mina Nader returns to Ottawa with an all-new Arabic stand-up experience after a blockbuster world tour. The Algonquin Commons Theatre is located in the Student Commons at Algonquin College in Ottawa. The Algonquin Commons Theatre Box Office will be open 2 hours prior to event times and is closed on non-event days.
