A Message from the SA President: Take a Break and Take Part in Elections

SA President, Vanshika Sharma, encourages you to take some time for yourself over the midterm break, and invites you to take part in the Board of Directors elections.

Published: February 25, 2026

Hi Wolves,

March marks the halfway point of the Winter 2026 term and brings a very important moment – Midterm break! The break offers an important opportunity to pause and reflect on your time at the college. Whether you’re using this time to catch-up on assignments, get ahead on studying, or pick up some extra hours at work, it’s important to also take some time to relax, hang out with friends, and rest. The remainder of the term will come and go quickly.

There’s also another very important event in March. We are hosting our Special General Meeting to elect next year’s Board of Directors. Over the next few weeks, you’ll have the opportunity to learn about the candidates who are stepping up to represent you over the next year. The meeting is open to all fee-paying members and is an opportunity to participate in the democratic process that guides and shapes the Students’ Association.

I also want to take a moment to recognize our varsity athletes. They have spent countless hours training and competing this year and I would like to thank them for their dedication, discipline, and heart in representing Algonquin College and the Students’ Association. Balancing athletics and academics is no small feat and we’re proud of everything they’ve accomplished.

As we begin to head into the final weeks of the term, let’s keep supporting each other and helping our community grow. You’ve made it this far and that’s something to be proud of. Let’s finish strong, take care of ourselves, and remember that we’re all in this together.

Warm regards,

Vanshika,
President, Students’ Association
